What is the latest food trend that is catching on like wildfire in many healthy circles? Well it’s not new, it’s actually been around for centuries. It’s called RAW eating!! Proponents of the RAW lifestyle insist that in order to take full advantage of all the vitamins, minerals and enzymes in food –it’s best to eat it in as close to a raw state as possible. While many of us try to add in steamed veggies and a couple of pieces of fruit to our daily food plan, RAW foodists strive to make every meal RAW. They eat lot’s of fruits from pineapple to cherimoyas and veggies from leafy green kale to bright red peppers, nuts avocados and even wild foods found in nature!! Instead of using an oven to bake bread or cookies—you would use a dehydrator instead so the temperature never goes above 115 degrees. You can make soups and sauces in your blender or food processor without ever having to use your stove. One thing we can say for sure although we don’t recommend any diet that is too extreme in nature—adding fresh, raw fruit and vegetables into your diet is one great way to get a blast of vitamins, minerals and fibre. So, when it comes to your fruits and veggies: GO RAW!
